A 501(c)(3) nonprofit initiative serving Mariposa County and surrounding Sierra foothill communities.
The Living History & Guild Education Initiative brings hands-on historical interpretation, traditional craftsmanship, and immersive learning experiences to families in rural Sierra communities. Through guild encampments, jousting demonstrations, artisan education, and historical storytelling, this program transforms history from textbook to lived experience.
History Is Best Learned Through Experience
In rural communities, access to immersive cultural programming is limited. Living history programs bridge that gap by providing interactive educational environments where children and adults can:
- Engage with historical trades and guild systems
- Witness authentic jousting and equestrian demonstrations
- Learn about medieval governance, honor codes, and craftsmanship
- Understand the social and artistic systems that shaped Western civilization
